In Alaska, analysis of microstructures observed in thin section of modern and ancient glacial sediments, used as a tool to understand subglacial and sediment flow processes. Additional research has focused on the Quaternary extent and chronology of the Bering Glacier. Prior work on the microstructures of sediment flow depositswas conducted at the Matanuska Glacier.
