Travel
The Newark airport (EWR) is the more convenient airport to reach Lamont and nearby hotels (approximately 50-minute car ride). Kennedy airport (JFK) is another reasonable option, but ground transportation is a bit longer and more expensive.
An alternative to car rental is an airport limousine service ($120 one way including tolls and gratuity from Newark and $160-$180 from JFK).

Note: There is no airport shuttle to Lamont and vicinity. Public transportation is possible but inconvenient. Airport buses are available from either Newark or JFK to the Port Authority in New York City for $15.00. (The Port Authority is a large hub for bus transportation.) Take Bus 9, 9A, and 9T to Rockland County, cost approximately $10.00, and tell the driver the name of your hotel. The driver will remind you to get off the bus at the nearest stop, which is not walking distance to the hotel. You will then need to call your hotel for a pick-up.
