The University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in evolutionary biology. This two-year position will be located in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The successful candidate will investigate the evolution of ice-binding proteins (IBP) in intertidal invertebrates. The overall objective of the project is to describe the extent to which IBP production exists and is environmentally correlated across select lineages of intertidal invertebrates that inhabit the Arctic and subarctic. This includes generating genomic and transcriptomic datasets of several species of intertidal invertebrates. The project includes fieldwork, lab work, comparative genomic analysis, and coordinating specimen collection across the United States.

A PhD in fields such as ecology and evolutionary biology, genomics, or marine biology is required. Experience with the generation and analysis of genomic and/or transcriptomic datasets, including bioinformatics pipelines is also required.

Applications must include a curriculum vitae, a one-page cover letter, sample publication, and contact information for three professional references.
