The Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) announce their next Public Webinar Series event highlighting the U.S. Coast Guard Arctic activities. This webinar will take place 23 January 2024, 9:00-10:00 a.m. Alaska Time.
Join IARPC and the U.S. Coast Guard for a webinar about the mission, vision, and functions of the U.S. Coast Guard’s new Polar Coordination Office. The webinar will also provide information about the Coast Guard’s Arctic Strategic Outlook Implementation Plan. Released in October 2023, the Implementation Plan outlines 14 interconnected, action-oriented initiatives the Coast Guard will undertake to execute strategic objectives from the 2019 Arctic Strategic Outlook. These objectives promote safety, security, stewardship, and protect sovereign rights across the Arctic. Finally, the speakers will outline the updated process for submitting requests to the Coast Guard to conduct science missions aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Healy.
