  1. 2014-2015 APECS Webinar Series
    First Webinar - Monday, 3 November 2014
    Building a Personal/Academic Website
    Presenter: Jean-Sebastien Moore, Universite Laval

The Association for Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) is pleased to
announce the start of the 2014-2015 Webinar Series. The first webinar of
the season will be held 3 November 2014 at 11:00 a.m. EST.

Webinars are interactive presentations and workshops, for which APECS
uses the online conferencing program "GoToMeeting." This live
presentation platform allows participants to hear the presentation, see
the power points slides and interact via chat box with the presenter the
entire time. Webinars allow people to connect and participant in high
quality research and skill training discussions from the comfort of
their desk. GoToWebinar has been provided as an in-kind contribution
from Bredbandsfylket.

The first webinar of this APECS webinar season is:

Building a Personal/Academic Website
Presenter: Jean-Sebastien Moore, Universite Laval, Canada
Monday, 3 November 2014 at 11:00 a.m. EST Time
Webinar ID: 411988233

Early career scientists should all be concerned about advertising
themselves. One of the best ways of doing this is to build a website
showcasing their work. Moore will first go over some of the numerous
alternatives that exist to easily build and host a free website. He will
also go into more details on the process of building the site with a
tool called Weebly, and share some thoughts on his personal design
preferences for a personal/academic website.
