The Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) is initiating implementation of the Arctic Research Plan 2017-2021. SEARCH's Permafrost Action Team lead Christina Schädel (NAU), Andrew Balser (DOD), Benjamin Jones (USGS), will be leading the Permafrost Collaboration Team (PCT), and they are inviting all interested researchers and stakeholders to participate in their first meeting on 9 May at 10 AM Alaska Time (2 pm EST).
SEARCH Permafrost Action Team Leads (Christina Schädel and Ted Schuur) will convene a session (Climate change and the carbon balance in permafrost) at the 2nd Asian Conference on Permafrost in Sapporo, Japan.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) invites investigators at U.S. organizations to submit proposals to conduct research about the Arctic. Arctic research includes field and modeling studies, data analysis, and synthesis about the arctic region.
This will be a joint conference with IASC (International Arctic Science Committee), hosted by the Swiss Committee on Polar and High Altitude Research in Davos, Switzerland. The Conference will include SCAR, IASC and other business and satellite meetings, an Open Science Conference and the SCAR Delegates' Meeting.
