The Ahtna Intertribal Resource Commission (AITRC) is seeking a self-motivated individual to fill the position of Stream Restoration Biologist, in the Ahtna Territory of southcentral Alaska. The incumbent will meet with the Ahtna tribes to gather information on environmental areas of concern, rank priority fish passage projects, plan and carry out fieldwork, and apply for implementation funding. Trainings will be attended with partner organizations to guarantee synchronized protocols, data, and ranking criteria.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• A bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, natural resource management, or similar, and 3 years of experience working in stream restoration, fisheries biology, habitat, or
management, or;
• A master's degree in a pertaining field with a minimum of 1 year experience working in stream restoration, fisheries biology, habitat, or management

Ahtna Intertribal Resource Commission is embarking on an important habitat improvement project to construct a wildlife fence in the Glennallen area. This initiative aims to propagate willows for browse enhancements within the Ahtna Territory. The project will involve the planning, designing, and constructing of a wildlife barrier while ensuring the safety and mobility of wildlife species.

Ahtna Intertribal Resource Commission is seeking a youth representative to participate in Board of Directors, Fish & Wildlife Committee, and State & Federal regulatory meetings. This seat is being created to encourage interest in AITRC and our advocacy for our Customary & Traditional ways of life.
The person selected will adhere to the Ahtna Values, be fully engaged in asking questions and want to learn more about challenges affecting our region.
Requirements for Youth Advisor Council:
Ages: 14-18
Must live in region
Be a citizen of one of the eight Ahtna tribes
Be an active student
Be ready to learn and be an active participant.
