Lake Description:

Ogaq and Donard lakes, Baffin Island. These two contain varved sediment (Hughen et al., 1996; Moore et al., 2001; Miller et al., 2004). Image analysis will be used to measure varve thickness, dark-laminae thickness, and mean grain-size thickness. Sediment from Donard Lake extending back to 1250 yr has been analyzed previously (Moore et al., 2001). Both chronologies will be extended back at least 2000 yr for this study.
