2000 Years of Climate Variablity from Arctic Lakes

Journal of Paleolimnology Special Issue

This Special Issue is a contribution to the International Polar Year. It is a compilation of new paleolimnological records of late Holocene climate and environmental change from the Arctic. Quantifying past climate from records stored in lakes is among the greatest challenges in paleolimnology. The Journal of Paleoliminology was chosen as the outlet for these studies because the reviewers are keenly aware of the complexities involved in interpreting changes in the physical and biological features of lake sediment in terms of past climate, and because this project aims for the highest-quality records that pass the scrutiny of peer reviewers by the paleolimnology community.
