This report is a synthesis of community-wide planning discussions
before, during and after the SEARCH
Implementation Workshop, which
was convened to establish priorities for the next steps of the
implementation of SEARCH. The report is meant to serve as a point of
reference for immediate planning in preparation for the International
Polar Year and for an Arctic Observing Network, and also to provide a
perspective on SEARCH beyond the immediate needs and priorities.
These proceedings present the evidence of rapid environmental change in the Arctic discussed during the 2003 SEARCH Open Science Meeting.
