9 January 2008 | Groups to Sue for Polar Bear Protection

Polar bears and other marine mammals depend on sea ice for hunting, raising their young, and resting.  With the record setting loss of sea ice in 2007, scientists are concerned for the polar bear’s longevity.  To get the polar bear listed on the Endangered Species list, several groups intend to sue the federal government.
