Susan E. Fox Executive Director |
||
A Chicago import, Susan joined ARCUS in April 2009 as Executive Director. Her prior experience includes 15 years as Executive Director of the Society of American Archivists and the American Association of Law Libraries. She previously worked at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government in the Science, Technology & Public Policy program and with the Center for Science and International Affairs. She has a B.S. in Communications from Boston University’s College of Communication and an M.S. in Public Affairs from the John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy Studies, UMass/Boston. Although currently an Alaskan cheechako, Chinook jargon for newcomer, she aspires to the day she becomes a sourdough, or old timer.

Helen Wiggins Director of Programs |
||
Helen was born in
Alaska, raised in Maryland, and spent several
years in the South as a graduate student at the
University of Georgia and as a GIS analyst. She
loves her small drafty cabin and has finally
relaxed during her forays into the wilderness,
now that she has realized there is not a
menacing grizzly behind every tree. Her
professional interests lie in interdisciplinary
scientific programs, and so naturally she was
thrilled to join the ARCUS team in April 2003
as a project manager. In May 2004, Helen
accepted the position of Program Coordinator;
she was promoted in January 2008 to ARCUS
Director of Programs. |

Kristina Creek Executive Coordinator |
||
Kristina joined the ARCUS team in October of 2008, shortly after relocating to Fairbanks from South Carolina. She accepted the position of Executive Assistant in December 2008. Kristina enjoys the diversity of the Executive Assistant job, as well as the various opportunities to learn about Alaska and the Arctic. Kristina’s other interests include literature, photography, motorcycles, travel, and recently (to the horror of her housemates), playing the violin.
