In 1993–2003, as a Deputy Director for Foreign Relations he supervised VNIIOkeangeologia’s participation in a number of international projects coordinated by the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) and the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC).
Grikurov is interested in addressing the general public and academic audiences: His lecture titles include:
- Earth Science Research in the Arctic Continental Margin of Russia: Existing Knowledge, Mineral Resource Potential, and Future Challenges
- International Science Initiatives in the Russian Arctic: Perspectives Versus Constraints
