My research interests include snow physics, cold
region hydrology, and remote sensing of
snow.
I have long-term professional interests in cold
region hydrology and several programs at the
University of AK and the Alaska SAR Facility are of
special interest to me in this regard. This program
provides an opportunity to develop these interests
further. I believe that operational and research
activities I'm currently involved with will be of
interest to these groups and I am interested in
learning more about their activities.Dr Cline earned
his Ph.D. in Geography at the University of Colorado,
in 1995. He is currently the Chief of Operations for
the National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing
Center as well as the Chairman of the NASA Cold Land
Processes Working Group. In addition, he is on the
Directorate Board of the Cryosphere Group of the
Association of American Geographers and he is an
active member of both the Surface Water &
Cryospheric Science Committees and the American
Geophysical Union.
Dr Cline has given numerous science and technical
presentations (e.g. AGU meetings, workshops, keynote
addresses, colloquia) and taught university level
academic courses. He is interested in presenting to
academic and graduate seminars; however, he is
unavailable in February, March and April of 2003.
Representative presentation materials include:
1. Progress Towards a Future Cold Land Processes
Remote Sensing Mission
2. Applied Cold Region Hydrology: The Next
Level"
3. Cold Land Processes Mission: Implications for the
Future of Snow Science"
