The Study of Environmental Arctic Change (SEARCH) seeks an inspiring and
service-oriented leader to serve as Executive Director. The position is
full time and will be located at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

The vision of SEARCH is scientific understanding of Arctic environmental
change to help society understand and respond to a rapidly changing
Arctic (see: http://www.arcus.org/search-program/vision).

A recent grant from the National Science Foundation Division of Polar
Programs' Arctic Sciences Section will support an organizational
structure and suite of activities to achieve the vision. Part of the
organizational structure is the newly created position of Executive
Director.

The position will work with the SEARCH Science Steering Committee,
researchers, stakeholders, and agency personnel to implement the goals
and objectives of SEARCH. The successful candidate will be able to
effect change; be capable of imparting credibility, trust, integrity,
and enthusiasm; and motivate others.

A PhD degree in related field (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant
experience is required.
