The Arctic Research Consortium of the United States (ARCUS) seeks an
experienced leader to serve as its executive director to lead both the
organization and Arctic research community. Incorporated in 1988, ARCUS
exists to identify and bring together the Arctic research community
resources to strengthen the community and address the many challenges
facing the Arctic. ARCUS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization organized
and operated for educational, professional, and scientific purposes to
advance Arctic research and education. ARCUS has a $2 million annual
operating budget and 14 staff. The executive is expected to split his or
her time between Washington, DC and Fairbanks, Alaska and may reside in
either location.

The ideal candidate will have 10 years of senior executive experience in
associations, NGOs, academe, or U.S. federal government. They will have
a background or experience in science policy and/or scientific
membership associations, and federal grant administration and reporting
experience. A Bachelor's degree is required. International experience,
meetings management experience, a CAE credential, and Master's degree
are preferred. A PhD is not required.

Salary and benefits are commensurate with an association of this size
and scope based on a recent review of compensation data.

The Search Committee anticipates holding the first interviews in-person
on Thursday, 5 March 2015 and Friday, 6 March 2015; and the second/final
interviews in-person on Thursday, 26 March 2015 and Friday, 27 March
2015. The Search Committee anticipates interviewing candidates in person
in Metro Washington, D.C. and concluding the search in the spring-summer

President, and Marshall Brown are conducting the search.
