Message from the Division of Polar Programs:

The Division of Polar Programs' Arctic Section is seeking program officers!

Dr. Max Holmes, from the Woods Hole Research Center served for a year
and a half as a Program Director in the Arctic System Science (ARCSS)
Program as a visiting scientist (IPA), but he has now left us. We
enjoyed and benefited from working with Max as he made substantial
contributions to the work of the Arctic Section and to ARCSS in
particular. We wish Max well as he returns to his research program.

This does create an immediate opportunity for someone else to join our
team to contribute to Arctic Sciences directions while learning about
the inner workings of the National Science Foundation. Additional
program officer opportunities are also anticipated in the near future
for other Arctic Programs including Arctic Natural Sciences, Polar Cyber
Infrastructure, and Arctic Observing Network. Polar Programs has posted
a Dear Colleague Letter that describes how to indicate your interest in
the immediate and future opportunities.
