The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) announces the
eighth and final webinar in the Spring 2013 Career Development Webinar
Series, scheduled for Wednesday, 3 April 2013 at 5:00 p.m. GMT. For
information about alternate time zones, please see:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html.

This week's webinar is entitled "Blogging to Improve Scientific
Communication." It will be presented by Mathew Reeve of the University
of Bergen. Scientific writing is like a language. To become fluent you
need to overcome a certain amount of fear. You need to repeat the
techniques you have learned so that your skills improve. Finally, you
need to continue to talk this new language so that you do not forget
your new skills. ClimateSnack builds on these ideas and offers an
unintimidating approach to climate blogging, where the main aim is to
improve writing skills as part of a community, rather than by oneself.
This webinar will introduce participants to the ClimateSnack concept and
how people can get involved in science blogging.

TO ATTEND THE WEBINAR
To attend a webinar a computer or smartphone and an internet connection
are needed. A headset or headphones and a built-in microphone are
recommended but not required. Webcams and telephones will not be used in
the presentations and are not needed to participate.

This webinar series is possible due to the support of the High North
Academy, and GoToWebinar has been provided as an in-kind contribution
from Bredbandsfylket.

Register for the webinar or join as it begins at:
https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/259365712.
