Researchers planning to include a support letter and estimate for
logistics support from CH2M HILL Polar Services (CPS) in their proposals
under the current National Science Foundation (NSF) Science,
Engineering, and Education for Sustainability (ArcSEES) solicitation
are asked to provide CPS with a detailed support request by Friday, 17
August 2012. Those submitting to the NSF Arctic Research Opportunities
Program Announcement (Arctic) are asked to provide CPS with a detailed
support request by Friday, 21 September, 2012.

As described in the section entitled 'Proposals Involving Arctic Field
Work' (under 'Proposal Preparation Instructions'), NSF will consider the
full cost of supporting a project, including logistics, prior to making
recommendations. To access the solicitation, search for document number
'12-553' for ArcSEES or '10-597' for Arctic at:
http://www.nsf.gov/publications/ods/.

Depending on the complexity of the proposed fieldwork, it generally
takes between four and six weeks to develop an estimate. Due to the high
volume of requests for estimates, CPS will be unable to fulfill proposal
estimate requests received after Friday, 17 August 2012 for ArcSEES and
Friday, 21 September 2012 for Arctic.

Please note the NSF deadline for proposals to the ArcSEES Solicitation
and Arctic Research Opportunities Program Announcement.

Researchers should submit field plans and support requirements to CPS
Science Planning Manager Diana Garcia-Lavigne at:
planning@polarfield.com.

As the logistics contractor for NSF, CPS annually provides
transportation, communications, infrastructure, and field camp support
to over 150 projects throughout the Arctic and near-Arctic.
