  1. Second Circular and Call for Session Proposals
    ASSW 2015, ISAR-4, and ICARP III Symposium
    23-30 April 2015

Organizers announce availability of the second circular for the Arctic
Science Summit Week (ASSW) 2015 and a call for session proposals to the
associated Fourth International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-4)
and the Third International Conference on Arctic Research Planning
(ICARP III). ASSW business meetings will convene 23-25 April 2015. The
ISAR-4 and the ICARP III symposium will convene 27-30 April 2015. All
three meeting will be held in Toyama, Japan.

ASSW is the annual gathering of international organizations engaged in
supporting and facilitating Arctic research. The purpose of the summit
is to provide opportunities for coordination, collaboration, and
cooperation in all areas of Arctic science.

The combined four-day ISAR-4 and ICARP III Symposium will be composed of
plenary presentations, panel discussions, and parallel sessions
addressing both the ISAR-4 theme, "Rapid Change of the Arctic Climate
System and its Global Influence," and the ICARP III theme, "Integrating
Arctic Research: A Roadmap for the Future."

The scientific community is invited to submit proposals to ISAR-4 for
both presenting and discussing scientific results and to ICARP III for
sessions addressing scientific synthesis or research planning activities.

Submission deadline: Monday, 30 June 2014.

    Arctic Barents Symposium

Organizers at the Arctic Centre announce a call for papers for the
Arctic Barents Symposium, entitled "Barents Studies: Past, Present, and
Future." The symposium will be held 4-5 November 2014 in Rovaniemi,
Finland.

The symposium is organized to celebrate establishment of the new
academic journal "Barents Studies: Peoples, Economies, and Politics."
The goal of the symposium is to advance collaboration among senior and
early-career scholars, to network with new potential contributors to the
journal, and to discuss the state of knowledge and research concerning
the Barents Region with various stakeholders.

Stakeholders, senior scholars, and PhD students are invited to submit
papers for the symposium.

Submission deadline: Monday, 16 June 2014.
